About
My name is Kaoru Wada
I am a pianist/piano teacher based in Hilversum with my two children and violinist husband. We relocated from London, UK in 2024 due to my husband’s work.

With over 20 years experience in piano teaching in various schools in the UK (Eton College for over 13 years), as well as working as a staff pianist at the Guildhall School of Music and Royal College of Music in London for many years, I am happy to work with students of all ages (minimum age 6 but there are exceptions) of all levels.
Our lessons will be all about discovering the amazing world of classical music, and cultivating our love for the piano and all things musical. Of course technique, hard work, musicality, knowledge of music theory are all important, but only if they serve the music and the composer’s wishes. Great performances respect the composer's story, without losing one's own expressive freedom.
Our lessons will be fun, and will be conducted in English (sorry no Dutch yet!) in my home on a decent Kawai grand piano.
I also follow the British ABRSM system.
If you are interested in working with me, there will be a trial lesson to meet and get to know each other. It will last 30mins and is free of charge. I won’t pressure you into signing up for lessons. It is just a trial to see if lessons with me will benefit you.

If you do decide to have lessons with me, it would be great if you have access to a piano/keyboard with full 88 keys, because piano learning does involve regular practice.
